So it is a lot harder to make a whole special day for a 1 year old than a 3 year old. Well harder in that she doesn't have as many favorites to please and easier in that we really didn't do much.
We played together and went shopping for a new birthday outfit for her in between her naps during the day. She is wearing her birthday outfit in the pictures below.
Rob had late class that day so we did dinner, cake, and gifts a little too close to bedtime. She loved watching us light the candle and was mezmorized by the flame. But then we helped her blow it out and pulled the cake close to her to dig in and she started to cry. She cried every time we pushed the cake closer to her. I think she was mad we blew out the candle! Hehe.. poor girl. So we quit that pretty quick and opened the few gifts we had and let her go to bed. It is always fun to celebrate a 1st birthday.
